Hornet™ boosts speed, accuracy, and ease of outlet fusion

Install fusion outlets faster, easier, and more accurately with McElroy’s Hornet™.

This all-in-one machine keeps the equipment, outlet hole, and fusion of the fitting perfectly aligned throughout the entire fusion process, reducing manpower needs and boosting efficiency and reliability.

With the Hornet, one operator can automatically align the machine on the center of the main pipe, thanks to its self-centering, “V-base” design.

From there, a guided carriage facilitates the drilling of the outlet hole, heating of the pipe, and fusion of the fitting by a single operator – all without repositioning the machine.

The Hornet can perform outlet fusions in any orientation, making it ideal for overhead and vertical fusions in tight spaces. It includes anodized aluminum wear surfaces for corrosion resistance and a three-position carriage lock.

In addition, the Hornet works with all McElroy saddle fusion outlet heads for polypropylene pipe in its respective branch and main size ranges.

Two Hornet models exist – the Hornet, which can be used to fuse 20mm to 63mm outlets; and the Hornet XL, which fuses from 63mm to 160mm. Both models can be used on mains up to 630mm.
