“It’s an honor to be given the opportunity to chair an organization like the Plastics Pipe Institute,” Johnston said. “PPI is one of the most valuable resources in our industry. Through their leadership and educational outreach the plastic pipe industry hasn’t just grown – it’s thrived.”

In Johnston’s current role at McElroy, he’s responsible for standards, industry relations, business intelligence, and information technology. Johnston is active in several standards communities, including ISO, Alliance, ASTM, ASME, AWWA, AGA, AWS, ASCE, and IGSHPA.

Prior to his transition to chair, Johnston spent two years as PPI vice chair. He will serve two years as chair, before beginning a two-year term as past chair.
