Android 14 OS now supported by DataLogger®

Our software team is constantly working to ensure the DataLogger® application is up-to-date and supporting the latest technology from Android.

The DataLogger® software now supports Android 14 (from the previous v. 11) which has included some code infrastructure changes, library updates and refactoring to meet Android’s specifications.

Bug Fix

  • The GPS service was not starting correctly on newer software versions. This caused joints to be missing GPS locations and attempting to edit them crashed the application. The function of the GPS Service was updated to resolve the issue.

February 21, 2025 Release Summary

Bug Fix

  • Addressed a reported issue in the Android 14 preparation release concerning the CAN bus functionality. A limited number of DataLogger® 7 units did not fully reconnect to the CAN bus after the user disconnected the CAN cable. The logic has been updated to reset the CAN bus anytime the cable is disconnected from a machine to prevent the issue.

What’s New?

  • Code infrastructure changes and refactoring on the application to support Android 14 from the current Android 11.
  • A confirmation step was added to the manual facing pressure input on the “Verify Alignment” screen. When a new value is entered on the keypad, a green button labeled “apply” will appear to confirm the entered value before proceeding. This change applies only to Large Diameter TracStar iSeries machines (630i, 900i and 1200i).

Additions and Improvements

  • The pipe size range for Acrobat™ 315 machines was updated based on the new heater which allows for pipe sizes down to 90mm.
    • Updated minimum value: 90 mm SDR7
    • Updated maximum value: 315mm for all SDR sizes
