Around the World: Kazakhstan

Four adults stand and smile in front of industrial machinery inside a warehouse. Three men wear sweaters or vests; one woman wears glasses and a patterned jacket. The group is positioned in front of green and white equipment.

An emerging market in the thermoplastic pipe industry is Kazakhstan. KATCO, the world’s largest ISR uranium miner, sent its chief engineer, Pierre Costermans, to tour our U.S. manufacturing facilities in December after McElroy came highly recommended for an HDPE project. During Pierre’s visit, he was very impressed with the cleanliness and scope of our manufacturing plant.

Two men in a factory setting examine green industrial machinery; one wears safety glasses and a blue pullover, the other wears a blue mask, glasses, and a maroon sweater. Boxes and shelves of parts are visible in the background.

KATCO is working on an expansion involving around 50 miles of HDPE that needs to be completed by the end of 2022. They’re looking to increase productivity and use McElroy’s Optimized Cooling™ to establish a quality program for their operations. KATCO is considering adding a Tracstar® 900i with the integrated DataLogger®7 to its fleet. This would be their first McElroy machine.
