COVID-19 Update

March 25, 2020

Thank you for your patience and loyalty during this challenging and unimaginable time in our global history. As the daily landscape surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve, we would like to inform you that we remain open and have implemented strict “social distancing” and a comprehensive list of safety-related procedures. Our goal is to safeguard the health and safety of all our employees while continuing to serve our customers as efficiently as possible.

Last week, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), which operates under the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), issued a memo (http://www.cisa.gov/publication/guidance-essential-critical-infrastructure-workforce) to provide guidance to states and local governments as they consider community-wide measures to limit the spread of CV-19. The list helps to determine the sectors, sub-sectors, segments or critical functions that should continue normal operations, appropriately modified to account for Centers for Disease Control (CDC) workforce and customer protection guidance.

CISA has clearly identified “Essential Businesses” in several critical infrastructure sectors that McElroy and its stakeholders serve including natural gas distribution, water and sewer, nuclear power plants, refineries, industrial plants and the oil and gas industry. Accordingly, McElroy and our suppliers, are deemed to be “Essential Businesses” and thus we need to continue to serve our customers while taking all appropriate actions to protect our employees.

Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt issued an order on March 24 closing non-essential businesses in Oklahoma. Last week, we reached out to state and local authorities urging them to follow the CISA’s guidelines on critical infrastructure if they were deciding to impose further restrictions. Through these communications, they have affirmed their intention to follow the CISA guidelines. Southern Specialties as well as our suppliers are essential to our economy surviving this cataclysmic time and together we will prevail.

We encourage each of you to reach out to your local, state and national leaders to encourage them to follow the national guidelines referenced above.

We will continue to operate at all of our facilities and are committed to giving you the best service possible throughout this event.

Should there be any changes to your orders, our Inside Sales and Support team will notify you as quickly as possible. Please reach out to us with any concerns.

Meanwhile, stay safe and hold on with us for brighter days to come.

Sincerely,

Chip McElroy
