TECHNICAL BULLETIN 193 – MegaMc® 1648 and TracStar® 1200i Facer Drive Improvements
This new technical bulletin was released at the end of October 2023 and involves updating the affected equipment’s facer motor and drive sprocket. It affects TracStar 1200i and recent models of the MegaMc 1648 Series 2 facers.
The affected facer models can be identified visually by the lack of a chip guard and presence of a white wear ring behind the blade holders.
McElroy Technical Support is actively working on this bulletin as a field campaign by reaching out to owners of affected equipment based on registration data. If you believe you have an affected machine and have not received communication from Technical Support, please contact us as soon as possible to determine if you need to update your machine.

Based on feedback from many of our channel partners, we will be increasing our Technical Support availability.
The support coverage extension plan we have implemented represents a 45% increase in total support coverage hours.
