Throwback fusion

A group of men and a boy gather around a machine in an indoor setting. One man in a white shirt and tie is pointing at the machine, while others observe closely, showing interest and engagement.

Black and white logo with the number 50 incorporating linked rings and a hexagon, the word “McElroy,” and the text “Years of Fusion” below.

Consistent, quality fusion training was a key part of McElroy’s commitment to the fusion industry when the first machine was built 50 years ago, and it’s no less true today. In this circa 1984 photo, you couldn’t have asked for better trainers than David Dutton (in tie demonstrating) and Bob Biffle (operating). Chip McElroy (behind David) brought along his professor and mechanical engineering classmates from the University of Tulsa.
