“One of the unique characteristics of Keith was that he was just a fantastic human being and an ambassador for something much larger than any one project he worked on.”
Chip McElroy
President and CEO, McElroy
Please join us in offering our thoughts and condolences to the family and loved ones of Keith Mole, who unexpectedly passed away on Aug. 21.

Keith was McElroy’s first international employee in the UK when he first came to McElroy in 1998. During his 22 years with the company as a Fusion Sales and Marketing Manager he was an invaluable asset to the company’s overseas efforts – not just by selling and promoting fusion equipment but also by increasing industry awareness and developing relationships that persist to this day. He worked for McElroy until his retirement in 2019.
“One of the unique characteristics of Keith was that he was just a fantastic human being and an ambassador for something much larger than any one project he worked on,” said McElroy President and CEO Chip McElroy.
As McElroy’s business grew in the UK in the late 1990s, Keith became the company’s go-to person to provide service, support, and expertise. Even before arriving at McElroy, Keith spent about a year as the company’s consultant.
“When you look at all of the international opportunities that we have on the eastern side of the Atlantic, those relationships that we enjoy today were cultivated by Keith,” Chip McElroy said. “That includes regions like Europe, the Middle East, Northern and Southern Africa, and more.”
In particular, Keith’s tireless work on McElroy’s TracStar® 500 line of machines made a tremendous impact on the fusion industry as a whole.
“Through the early 2000s, there were more TracStar 500 machines in the UK than anywhere else in the world,” Chip McElroy said.
In addition to his tireless work ethic, Keith will be remembered as a man who enjoyed working with others. He served as a member of the Pipeline Industries Guild, and was also active in his community. He loved to golf, and he loved going on daily walks with his Golden Retrievers.
Keith embodied the McElroy culture through his tireless efforts to introduce McElroy to the world, through the deep connections that he made and also through his smile, his love for family, and his love for his McElroy family.
“He was an incredible, shining light in everything he was involved with,” Chip McElroy said.
