Technical Bulletin Reminder
McElroy has published several technical bulletins to be used specifically for the purpose of troubleshooting. Following the instructions in a tech bulletin and providing that documentation up front can ensure proper steps are taken to find an issue and reduce the amount of time it can take for McElroy to accept or deny a warranty incident.
In some cases, McElroy technical support may not accept a warranty incident if the troubleshooting documentation is not provided.
McElroy distributors can access all tech bulletins through the distributor portal. If you would like a copy of a tech bulletin and don’t have access, please contact McElroy tech support for assistance.

Warranty Process Clarification for McElroy Distributors
When submitting a warranty claim, replacement orders are NOT automatically placed. Our process assumes that you have completed a repair with parts from your stock or have ordered replacement parts independent of the warranty incident. Replacement orders do not need to be linked to warranty incidents.
Our recommendation is to order the necessary parts, complete the repair, and then submit an incident. If you would like us to order replacement parts, you MUST specifically provide that request at the time of incident submission. These orders are often needed quickly and failure to place the order, ask for expedited delivery, or request that tech support place the order can significantly delay the arrival of replacements.
Electrical Power Supply Considerations for EP800AD HPUs
We have recently seen an increase in electrical system failures in EP800AD HPUs. Most of these failures can be attributed to insufficient electrical power supply for proper operation.
Electrical power on job sites can be inconsistent and it is always best to try and have a dedicated power source to prevent problems that can be induced by inadequate voltage. Distance from power supply should also be considered and adjustments should be made to minimize the length of extension cords.
If extension cords are needed, they need to be adequately sized by a qualified electrician to ensure the proper voltage supply is available at the HPU. Planning for a dedicated power supply and following these simple recommendations can help to prevent equipment malfunctions or failures such as blown fuses and damage to electrical components.
