Spotlight on the Acrobat™

The Acrobat fusion machines offer the best capabilities for butt fusing polypropylene piping systems seen in today’s most advanced HVAC, mechanical and commercial plumbing applications. Offered in a size range from 63mm to 630mm (2” to 24”) polypropylene pipe, there is an Acrobat to meet the needs of any jobsite.

MEDIUM-DIAMETER ACROBATS

With its optimal weight and compact design, the Acrobats for medium-diameter pipe are easy machine to manipulate whether you’re fusing pipe in the ceilings, the walls or the ground. Models range from 63mm to 315mm (2” to 12”) and offer these key features:

Small Footprint & Lightweight – Acrobats are designed with a small footprint and optimal weight for easier operation when working overhead. The modular HPU (Hydraulic Power Unit) consumes less power and it also lightweight for easier movement between fusions.

Versatile Hydraulic Power – The Acrobat is compatible with two HPUs to meet the maximum system pressure needed on your jobsite: low force for low drag situations or with thinner-walled pipe or high-force for high drag and vertical applications.

Fuses in Any Orientation – The Acrobats can fuse overhead, vertically or horizontally. Narrow jaws allow fusions to most flanges and fittings.

Tool-Less Carriage Conversion — The carriage converts from 4 to 3 jaws without the use of tools for a more compact unit in tight spaces. The facer and heater can be loaded from the top or bottom (in the 3-jaw configuration) of the carriage to provide greater access.

DataLogger Compatible – Acrobat machines are compatible with the DataLogger® to record and document the key parameters of the fusion process. With joint reporting required on a growing number of jobsites, this is a very popular feature.

LARGE-DIAMETER ACROBATS

The Acrobat with QuikFit® carriage for 355mm to 630mm pipe brings an innovative solution to the challenges of fusing large-diameter polypropylene pipe in close-quarter working environments. With a modular, lightweight jaw design, operators can fuse pipe in places that were nearly impossible with heavy, bulkier fusion equipment. By simplifying this process, the Acrobat with QuikFit carriage opens a new door for the plumbing, mechanical and HVAC industry.

Assembles Around the Pipe — The QuikFit’s modular carriage breaks down in components so that the upper and lower jaws can easily be assembled around the pipe by hand to construct a full-featured fusion carriage. This reduces weight and size and eliminates the difficulty of lifting and situating an entire carriage into a tight space, especially overhead.

Lightweight Components — A proprietary jaw design was incorporated to create individual machine pieces that are incredibly lightweight, making pipe installations more safe and efficient.

Interchangeable Common Pieces — The core components of the Acrobat can be used on any of the three QuikFit carriage size configurations for 355mm/400mm, 450mm/500mm or 560mm/630mm.
