Last month, McElroy University launched a program allowing students to take the classroom lecture portion of the Operator Qualification course online. We’re happy to report that three online modules that were offered did exactly what we intended them to do and that is for students to spend less time in the classroom and more time in the shop working hands-on with McElroy equipment!
When students arrived at McElroy University for hands-on training and testing, they had already completed three prerequisites online: Introduction to McElroy Resources, Jobsite Safety & Setup and Introduction to PE Pipe & Pipe Fusion. This shortened their stay and got them back to work sooner.
“The feedback from students has been overwhelmingly positive. They loved spending less time in the classroom and more time hands-on with the equipment,” said Paul Brodsky, Manager of McElroy University. “Students who were new to the industry thought it was a great intro and others already in the industry thought it was a great refresher.”
The prerequisites for the Operator Qualification courses will now be taken online as a standard practice for classes offered directly from McElroy and can also be utilized by our network of McElroy Certified Instructors. Look for online courses on additional topics to be to be added in the near future as well.
